Vienna (Wien locally) is beautiful. We started the day off with a European breakfast in Pension Nossek, lovely fresh baked rolls and a selection of cheese and meats. We had a couple of hours to kill, so we walked around the city centre
, being a Sunday everything was pretty quiet. Then, off to the Opera House to pick up our three day Vienna Pass for the HoHo (Hop on, Hop off Bus). 9:30 and we’re on our way. Red route first, seeing the sights and enjoying the commentary, the Danube here is a canal, and not very blue! Back to the Opera House and onto the Yellow Route. Again, winding through the streets of Vienna and learning the history of this old city. We got off at Schonbrunn Palace, the summer palace. Wow, wish we had a holiday place like this! Wandered around the gardens, then into the Palace itself for the Grand Tour. Impressive! Each room was decorated differently, even weirdly in some places 🙂 Tour groups made it a bit uncomfortable, too many people in too small a place at one time. Well worth the visit though. Then back to the Opera House and a slow meander back to Pension Nossek. Stopped off and had a drink (G&T for Herself, local beer for me). People watching is fun, some very different outfits being worn here! Went around the corner for dinner, Vienna Schnitzel of course! Big day, and after a couple of Rhine Rieslings, Herself decided passing out on the bed was the best idea 🙂
Great day, get ready for Day Two!

Well a great big hello to Himself and Mrs Always Right…that’s if this works! Never replied to a blog before so here goes. Still in Genoa today (Thursday) for you both unless I’ve got your times wrong? Anyway, love reading your interesting little chats so far. Shoes…glorious shoes, sounds like the perfect thing and no, you should not see them here on other people’s feet, one would assume. Hope your weather is great and that your doggie sitters are taking care of your precious bundles. It is so very hot and dry, dry, dry here as you would know, our worst bushfire season is upon us so they say. Anyway, couple more sleeps till the cruise I think, so hoping all goes well for you both. Great big grins about the floor levels and room numbers when you arrived, comedy of errors! Take great care and looking forward to your next instalment. Love and hugs to both, Karen xx
