Our last day in Dubai turned out to be one of the best. We started the day early at the Dubai Museum. It was right across the road from our hotel and it opened at 8:30am so we were there before the throngs of tour groups. This was an amazing museum that has artifacts that date back 5000 years. The dioramas depicted life in Dubai over the years and the design of the museum itself was very viewer friendly and cool (always a bonus in Dubai). After a couple of hours here we returned to hotel and packed bags ready for return journey to Australia, then off to the Burj Al Arab high tea.
Burj Al Arab is apparently the number one, 7 star hotel in the world. And here we were!!! We enjoyed a feast
that we could not finish but only one complimentary bubbles as the next glass would have been $50+ …now I don’t know about you but that is just not on for me…just too pricey. Finished up there (disappointingly a VERY hazy view)
and headed back to hotel …our experience of Dubai peak traffic. CRAZY and on an 18 lane motorway!
21 km in 1 hour 15 minutes) Back to hotel, final night’s sleep before an early start to the airport. Quick check in ..Emirates Lounge then board for the 13+ hour journey home.
Himself sat through a movie marathon or 5 or so movies, I watched some interesting movies, documentaries etc …..really recommend “Meagan Leavey” …superb movie (to me) …..then landed in Brisbane a few minutes early and home.
Make sure you read the next, last and most important post.
